This week, we’ve got six albums and a playlist of eighty songs, all new. Some don’t sound new, in the best way. Some are unexpected, with songs that have surprised and delighted me this month.
Of course, I’ve listened to the Weyes Blood and Drugdealer single a dozen times since it released two days ago (Spotify | Apple Music). Then, there’s this dirtbag-adjacent track from Whitney K (Spotify | Apple Music) and this heavy German bop that brings to mind the B-52s (Spotify | Apple Music). And a very good acid house track (Spotify | Apple Music) that I’ll almost certainly play at Jupiter Disco in New York next month (New Yorkers, come say hi!). But, there’s so much more. Expect global groove, R&B, ambient, neo-new wave, pop, indie twang, country, rock, punk, house, acid, bossa nova, and the list goes.
Enjoy.
The albums
Small Variations from the Previous Day - Louis Matute
A really nice (and very Dinner Music) album from a Swiss guitarist, drawing as much from folk as jazz, it’s at once poetic and vibrant.

Cruel Joke - Ken Pomeroy
A quiet beauty. This country-folk album from an Oklahoman and native Cherokee will make you re-think some things. Here’s a review in Rolling Stone.
